Read Time:2 Minute, 2 Second

The Worldcoin Iris biometric cryptocurrency project is looking to upgrade its technology after 180 days of launching publicly.

Worldcoin Orb Verification Revamp

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Alex Blania the COO and co-founder of Tools for Humanity shared the news of the intended revamp, adding that the next iteration will look different from the previous but similar to an Apple product. Blania recounted that the initial design of the Worldcoin Orb device existed as far back as four years ago when he joined the company.

The revamped version of the Orb device will debut in the first half of 2024, with alternative colors that will showcase the firm’s effort to make the technology look more friendly.

However, recognizing the need to adapt to evolving market dynamics and technological advancements, Worldcoin has embarked on a quest to enhance the capabilities of its Orb technology. The proposed Worldcoin Orb revamp will addresses existing limitations while unlocking new possibilities for the Worldcoin ecosystem.

One of the key areas of focus in the comprehensive revamp is scalability. As blockchain technology continues to gain traction across various industries, the demand for scalable solutions has never been greater. Worldcoin aims to address this challenge by optimizing its Orb technology to support a higher throughput of transactions, thereby catering to the needs of a growing user base.

Worldcoin Combats Regulatory Challenges

Recall that in December 2023, Sam Altman’s Worldcoin paused its Orb verification services in India, Brazil, and France. The crypto start-up pause announcement came months after an expansive global rollout of its helmet-shaped eyeball-scanning device, raising eyebrows and speculations about regulatory challenges in key markets.

Despite opening kiosks and generating buzz, the temporary pause prompted scrutiny into potential regulatory hurdles. Also, the Worldcoin Foundation emphasized Worldcoin’s commitment to meeting regulatory requirements globally. Meanwhile, Worldcoin recently launched its Orb verification in Singapore and also recorded 500,000 World ID verification in Argentina.

Currently, the native token of the ecosystem WLD has a market value of $2.24 with a 0.46% loss in the last 24 hours. Compared to the more parabolic runs it recorded in December, the token might gain more traction generally now that upgrade is coming to Worldcoin Orb. In the long run, the coming of a new version similar to Apple products may impact positively on the Worldcoin token.
